Description:

Our client is a multi site charity spun off from the NHS that supports patients with various services and therapies as well as conducting cutting-edge medical research.

 

They are looking for a Database Manager to be responsible for the daily management of the Charity’s CRM/s, namely Raiser’s Edge as well as managing various database projects, data migration projects and to be the first point of contact for queries, training and support.

 

Role specific responsibilities:-

  • Management and development of the CRM and associated systems, including:-
    • outstanding functionality of the Charity’s CRM, whilst investigating and embedding processes to improve the system
    • robust quality checking processes to ensure data is cleaned regularly
    • analysis, quality, integrity, selections, segmentations and protection
    • identify ways of improvement to assist the Charity in achieving its goals
    • ensure the Charity’s data and reporting systems are fit for purpose to raise and record fundraising activities etc
  • Lead on the strategic development of the Charity’s CRM, including:-
    • contributing to the development and implementation of the CRM strategy
    • set highest standards in data governance and be a Champion of good practice

 

  • Management of the Database team, including:-
    • working closely with the Fundraising Database Administrator to ensure the database is well structured and fit for purpose
    • ensuring all income is inputted and recorded correctly into databases
    • supervise the production of month end reports to the charity’s Finance team
  • Lead database projects, including:-
    • assessing business needs
    • managing continuous improvement projects
    • working with internal and external experts to create a future-proof environment for holding and enhancing the Charity’s customer data
  • Be main point of contact for all database queries, including:-
    • ensuring users have the skills, tools and knowledge to maximise data potential
    • logging and addressing of queries in a timely manner
    • train and support small teams and users across the Charity
    • work closely with other Charity teams to ensure data is collected, stored and managed properly within their systems
    • creation of specialised queries and reports to meet users’ needs
  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders and other Charity teams such as Fundraising, Marketing and Volunteering
  • Prepare data for regular Gift Aid claims in line with an agreed schedule

  • Previous experience: -
    • Minimum 2 years of working with CRM’s such Raiser’s Edge, CARE, IRIS in a fundraising setting
    • Minimum 1 year experience delivering IT training
    • Excel (advanced) SQL and / or SSRS
    • Working and communicating with a number of stakeholders
    • Project delivery at ground level in relation to fundraising databases
    • Delivering quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques and processes
    • data reporting and producing data insights and visualisations
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act (GDPR), Gift Aid and BACS statutory requirements as they relate to UK fundraising
  • Advanced analytical skills including being skilled at managing large volumes of data
